The Miami Heat secured a 111-105 victory over the Charlotte Hornets, maintaining their unbeaten record in the NBA In-Season Tournament. Jimmy Butler scored a season-high 32 points, and Bam Adebayo recorded a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. The Heat have now won six straight games overall and are 2-0 in group play within the tournament.
Despite missing key players due to injuries, the Hornets put up a strong fight with a stellar performance from P.J. Washington, who scored 32 points, including six of Charlotte's season-high 15 three-pointers. LaMelo Ball added 28 points, 11 assists, and six rebounds.
Miami completed a successful 4-0 road trip, securing wins against San Antonio, Atlanta, and Memphis in addition to the victory over Charlotte.
The Hornets started strongly, taking a 32-24 lead in the first quarter, but Miami took advantage of Charlotte's thin depth in the second quarter, building a 57-48 lead by halftime. Although Charlotte made a comeback attempt in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to 95-90, Miami held on to secure the victory.
The Heat, now 2-0 in group play, will host the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday, while the Hornets (1-1) will host the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday in another In-Season Tournament game.
