If you find yourself in a bind this Thanksgiving, don't worry - some grocery stores are open on Turkey Day. Here's a rundown of the nationwide grocery chains that will be open for Thanksgiving, along with their hours. Keep in mind that hours may vary by store, so it's best to check online or call before heading out.
Albertsons will be closing its more than 2,000 stores at 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Big Lots locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., while most Dollar General stores will also be open for the holiday. Kroger's family of stores will be open until 4 p.m. local time on Thanksgiving, and Rite Aid stores will be open, but the pharmacies will be closed. Sprouts stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and nearly all of Walgreens' 24-hour locations will remain open for the holiday.
As for Wegmans and Whole Foods, hours may vary by store, so be sure to check online before heading out. On the other hand, Walmart, Target, Aldi, BJ's Wholesale, Costco, Sam's Club, and Trader Joe's have all announced that they will be closed for Thanksgiving. However, many gas stations, convenience stores, and restaurants will remain open if you find yourself in need of a last-minute item.
