GTA 6 Trailer Unveiling Time Revealed
GTA 6 reveal trailer duration confirmed at 91 seconds by YouTube, premiering on December 5 with worldwide availability and no regional limitations.
YouTube has confirmed that the official duration of the Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) reveal trailer will be 91 seconds. This news comes after fans speculated that Rockstar had hinted at the GTA 6 trailer date in June 2023. The developer recently announced that the GTA 6 trailer will premiere on December 5 at 9 am ET, and just three days later, they shared a YouTube Premiere link for the upcoming video.
The YouTube Premiere feature, introduced in 2018, allows scheduled YouTube videos to be treated as pre-recorded livestreams, enabling users to watch them together in real time. According to publicly available data from the YouTube API, the first GTA 6 trailer will have a duration of one minute and 31 seconds.
Within two hours of the YouTube Premiere page going live, nearly 50,000 fans have already chosen to receive notifications about the livestream. It is expected that the actual number of viewers watching the video's debut in real time will be significantly higher. Rockstar's social media activity suggests that the trailer will exclusively premiere on YouTube.
The YouTube Data API further verifies that the initial trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 will be available worldwide without any regional limitations. Additionally, it is disclosed by the same source that Rockstar has already designated the video as licensed content.
However, it is important to note that this is a common practice in the industry and does not necessarily mean that YouTubers will be unable to monetize their content which includes footage from the trailer.
The YouTube API has provided some additional information about the clip: Rockstar uploaded a 91-second video without closed captions. It is worth noting that most of the company's existing YouTube videos do have closed captions, suggesting that the GTA 6 reveal trailer may not have much dialogue.
However, since the developer often includes closed captions even in videos without dialogue, there is a possibility that they will add them to the upcoming trailer closer to its premiere.
To provide further context, the 2016 reveal trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 also did not have closed captions, despite featuring some spoken remarks towards the end.
On the other hand, the first GTA 5 trailer did include closed captions, likely due to its heavier focus on dialogue. In terms of duration, the upcoming GTA 6 video will be slightly longer than both the RDR2 and GTA 5 reveals, which were 68 and 84 seconds long, respectively.
The trailer is scheduled to premiere shortly after alleged GTA 6 footage was leaked by someone claiming to be a friend of a Rockstar employee's son.
