Currently a junior at Colorado State, Mya gained widespread attention after achieving a school record in the shot put. This impressive performance not only marked a personal record but also earned Mya the title of the school's student-athlete of the week, achieving a record-breaking throw of 18.50 meters. Surpassing the previous record of 17.55m, Mya's mark of 18.50 meters propelled her to the number 1 position in Colorado State's top 20, as highlighted on the Rams' website. The website also noted that she presently holds the leading position in the nation for women's indoor shot put.
