The 9-1-1 star, 44, received criticism for using a beauty filter in the photo, prompting her to post more photos with over-the-top filters to poke fun at the critics. She admitted that it would be a lie to pretend not to care about the negative comments, stating that she didn't feel self-confident in her early 20s and was called sexy before she knew what being sexy was. Hewitt emphasized that the majority of people have been kind to her, and she has accepted that she is 44 and this is what she looks like. She also reflected on the need to take time off social media to reset and make her scrolling time more active, sharing that social media sometimes makes her feel like she's not enough. Hewitt and her husband, Brian Hallisay, welcomed their third child in September 2021. They met on the set of NBC pilot Love Bites in 2011 and reunited on screen when Hallisay played Hewitt's character Maddie's abusive ex-husband Doug Kendall on the series, 911.
