Food Network star Darnell Ferguson arrested on warrant for domestic violence case

Celebrity chef and Food Network star Darnell Ferguson arrested on multiple charges related to domestic violence case in Kentucky.

Celebrity chef and host of "Superchef Grudge Match," Darnell Ferguson, was arrested in Louisville, Ky. in 2023 on charges related to a domestic violence case. The St. Matthews Police Department revealed that Ferguson was charged with burglary, strangulation, assault, terroristic threatening, menacing, criminal mischief, and theft of a stolen debit or credit card. Due to the sensitive nature of the case, authorities declined to provide further details.

According to reports from NBC affiliate WAVE of Louisville, an emergency protective order was filed against Ferguson, alleging that he entered a woman's home without permission, choked her, and threatened to kill her. Ferguson's attorney did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Ferguson is known as a celebrity chef, restaurateur, and entrepreneur, having appeared on several popular television shows such as "Tournament of Champions," "Chopped," "Guy's Grocery Games," "The Big Holiday Food Fight," and "Food Fantasies." Additionally, he runs a non-profit called SuperChef's CAPE and hosts a reality competition on Food Network called "Superchef Grudge Match," where chefs from across the country settle personal and professional disputes in a one-round, one-dish, winner-takes-all heavyweight battle.

The Food Network, where Ferguson has made numerous appearances, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
