Bill Simmons reacts hilariously to Aaron Rodgers and Jimmy Kimmel beef
NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers and late night host Jimmy Kimmel's feud is causing tension between ESPN and host Pat McAfee.
The sports media world has been buzzing with the ongoing feud between NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers and late night television host Jimmy Kimmel, which has also caused tension between ESPN and one of its newest hosts, Pat McAfee.
Numerous individuals, including former ESPN personalities like Jemele Hill and Dan Le Batard, have shared their thoughts on the situation, drawing attention to the conflict. However, one prominent figure with connections to both ESPN and Kimmel has remained noticeably quiet.
Bill Simmons, the founder of The Ringer and a former employee of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in 2003, as well as a long-time contributor to ESPN, had not publicly addressed the beef despite regularly releasing his popular podcast "The Bill Simmons Show." That is, until he finally offered a brief comment on the matter during the introduction of his show released on the evening of Jan. 9.
In a sarcastic tone, Simmons acknowledged the numerous former ESPN talents who had weighed in on the situation, before delivering his 12-word reaction.
"I just don't care. I really don't. Good luck to everyone involved."
This response may come as a surprise to some, given Simmons' history of speaking out against ESPN and his ongoing clashes with upper management during his time there. Additionally, Simmons frequently features his longtime friend Sal Iacono, also known as "Cousin Sal," on his podcast, who happens to be the cousin of Jimmy Kimmel. Despite their recent collaboration on a show together, Simmons had remained silent on the beef until his brief acknowledgment on his podcast.
The ongoing conflict has certainly caused a stir in the sports media world, and it seems that everyone has an opinion on the matter. However, for Simmons, it appears that he has chosen to distance himself from the drama and focus on his own endeavors.
