Mauricio Pochettino responds to Argylle stunt after Chelsea vs Fulham overshadowed by film promotion
Mauricio Pochettino responds to bizarre Argylle film stunt at Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea narrowly beats Fulham. Spy thriller stars Henry Cavill and Dua Lipa.
Mauricio Pochettino recently responded to a strange promotional stunt at Stamford Bridge that took away from Chelsea's win over Fulham. Cole Palmer's first-half penalty secured a narrow victory for Chelsea, putting them in eighth place in the table, while Fulham sits in 13th after losing four of their last five matches. Despite the game, the bizarre promotional device for the upcoming film Argylle, produced by one of the Blues owner Todd Boehly's companies, overshadowed the match. The spy thriller, set to be released in February 2024, features stars Henry Cavill and Dua Lipa. Throughout the game, a group of men in dark green velvet Mao jackets periodically stood up, performing various actions for around 30 seconds each. However, Pochettino claimed it did not affect the spectacle and expressed his hope to be invited to the film's premiere. He stated that while he was aware of the promotion, it did not impact the game and added that it was open to different things happening in football, as long as it did not affect the players or the spectacle. He also mentioned that it was nice for fans to see the film's promotion and expressed his interest in attending the premiere.
