This sentiment came after Osasuna's 2-0 loss to Xavi's side in the second Super Cup semifinal in Riyadh. During the match, a 59th-minute goal by Robert Lewandowski and a late goal by Lamine Yamal secured the victory for Barcelona.

Herrera and his teammates felt aggrieved by several 50-50 calls that didn't go their way, including a perceived foul by Andreas Christensen on Jose Arnaiz in the lead-up to Lewandowski's goal, which VAR did not overturn. Herrera expressed his dissatisfaction with the Super Cup, stating that it seems tailored for Real Madrid and Barcelona to play, and that the Saudi public's desire to see these two teams results in them being paid more.

Barcelona is now set to face Real Madrid in a rematch of last year's title clash.
