Mohamed Salah injury: Liverpool star forced off in Egypt vs Ghana
Liverpool's Mohamed Salah suffers injury in Africa Cup of Nations, potentially missing 11 games for Premier League leaders. Stay tuned for updates!
Liverpool will be anxiously waiting for an update on the condition of Mohamed Salah after he was forced to leave the field during Egypt's Africa Cup of Nations match against Ghana due to a suspected injury.
The 31-year-old was taken off in the first half of the game after appearing to strain his hamstring and gesturing to indicate the problem. He was promptly substituted by manager Rui Vitória.
Salah, who is currently participating in AFCON in the Ivory Coast as Egypt aims for an eighth title, has not played for Liverpool since their 4-2 victory over Newcastle United on January 1. The match was deadlocked at 0-0 when Salah had to exit the field.
If Egypt advances to the final on February 11, Salah could potentially miss up to 11 games for Jurgen Klopp's team, who are currently leading the Premier League standings.
