Justin Timberlake Selfish video: Solo album since 2018
Justin Timberlake's long-awaited return to music is marked by the release of his new album and romantic single "Selfish."
Justin Timberlake is finally making his highly anticipated return to the music world with the release of his new album this year. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first major solo musical project since 2018, and the excitement reached new heights with the debut of the Selfish music video on January 25. This single's video serves as a special pre-release musical extravaganza for the upcoming premiere of his album Everything I Thought It Was in March.
The Can't Stop the Feeling singer's brand new single is a midtempo romantic ballad that showcases his incredible talent and artistry. In the video, the 42-year-old artist delivers a captivating performance, flaunting his smooth dance moves in the final crescendo. Selfish was written by Timberlake himself, along with Louis Bell, Cirkut, Theron Thomas, and Amy Allen, and was co-produced by Justin, Bell, and Cirkut. The lead single's video was directed by Bradley J. Clader, with Marty Kudelka and Dana Wilson choreographing it.
JT's latest solo track was first unveiled during a concert in Memphis, his hometown, last week. The Selfish video, while marking Justin's glamorous return, captures him in a down-to-earth tone, as he is seen sporting a white tee and reluctantly heading into rehearsal. The romantic lyrics, "I want every bit of you / I guess I'm selfish," showcase a more vulnerable side of the musician, while also paying homage to his earlier releases with clever references sprinkled throughout the song.
Everything I Thought It Was will be Timberlake's sixth solo album, following his 2018 release Man of the Woods. The highly anticipated album is set to be released by RCA on March 15. In addition to the album news, JT has also made headlines with the announcement of his one-night-only music show at New York City's Irving Plaza on January 31, with free tickets available to lucky fans.
Prior to Selfish, JT collaborated with BTS' Jungkook for the latter's solo debut album track "3D," and also teamed up with Timbaland and Nelly Furtado for the 2023 single "Keep Going Up." With his upcoming album and exciting live show, Justin Timberlake is set to make a triumphant return to the music scene, and fans couldn't be more thrilled.
