England Great Stuart Broad Trolled for Questioning Ollie Pope Dismissal via DRS by India - Cricket News
India dominates England in the third Test, winning by 434 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal's unbeaten 214 sets up India's biggest Test win.
In the first innings of the Rajkot Test, India made a successful DRS appeal against Ollie Pope after Mohammed Siraj, known for his short-ball tactics, bowled a fuller delivery that hit the English batter's pad. Umpire Joel Wilson initially did not give Pope out, but upon reviewing the replays, he had to overturn his decision as the ball was confirmed to be hitting the leg stump. Pope's entertaining innings came to an end at 39 off 55 balls. Stuart Broad, a former England pace great, commented on the dismissal, stating, "Looks high to me for 3 reds!" to which his ex-teammate Graeme Swann replied, "You used to nick it to slip and not think you were out mate."
India went on to defeat England by a massive 434 runs in the third Test, taking a 2-1 lead in the five-match series in Rajkot. This victory marked India's biggest Test win in terms of runs, surpassing their 372-run victory over New Zealand in 2021. England, set an improbable victory target of 557, collapsed to 122 all out in 39.4 overs on day four. Ravindra Jadeja was the standout bowler for India, taking five wickets for 41 runs in 12.4 overs.
The match witnessed England's worst batting performance of the series, with no batsman able to surpass the 20-run mark except for number 10 Mark Wood, who scored 33. In contrast, India posted scores of 445 and 430 for four declared in their two innings, respectively. Yashasvi Jaiswal's unbeaten 214 in India's second innings set the stage for the massive win, with Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja also scoring centuries. Sarfaraz Khan, making his debut, scored back-to-back fifties.
The fourth Test is scheduled to take place in Ranchi from February 23.
