South Florida Women's History Month celebration gears up

South Florida awaits the Women's History Month Celebration at Island SPACE Caribbean Museum, promising inspiration, empowerment, and cultural performances.

South Florida is buzzing with excitement as Island SPACE Caribbean Museum, in partnership with Caribbean Professionals Network, gears up to host its third annual Women's History Month Celebration.

Set to take place on Sunday, March 3rd, from 2:30 to 5:00 pm, the event guarantees an afternoon filled with empowerment, unity, and motivation at the Island SPACE Caribbean Museum located at 8000 West Broward Blvd, Suite 1202, Broward Mall.

Since its inception in 2022, this community event has been steadily growing, drawing in more and more attendees each year. What started as a gathering of 60 people has now expanded to over 120 participants in 2023.

With the generous backing of the Community Foundation of Broward, organizers are expecting an even larger turnout this year.

Attendees can look forward to a dynamic program crafted to inspire and uplift. Live cultural performances will transport guests to the heart of the Caribbean, setting the tone for the event.

Throughout the afternoon, influential women speakers will share impactful messages, shedding light on various aspects of life, work, and leisure.

The Women's History Month Celebration features a distinguished panel of Caribbean women, each offering insights on navigating life's challenges. Topics will cover maintaining a balance between faith and daily activities, achieving financial stability, and promoting overall well-being.

Focusing on personal journeys and successes, panelists will provide strategies for creating a fulfilling and enriching life.

Dr. Solanges Vivens, a recipient of the Caribbean American Heritage Award for Outstanding Achievement in Entrepreneurship, will deliver the keynote address. An esteemed author and advocate for female leadership, Dr. Vivens' empowering words are sure to resonate with attendees.

The event will be co-moderated by Monica Victor from St. Lucia and Natacha Alexandre from Haiti, bringing diverse perspectives to the discussion.

As a cultural focal point for South Florida's Caribbean community, Island SPACE Caribbean Museum stands as a tribute to the region's vibrant heritage.

In addition to the Women's History Month Celebration, visitors are encouraged to explore the museum's collection of Caribbean artifacts and stories.

While admission is free, guests are encouraged to RSVP at islandspacefl.org/womensmonth.

Island SPACE receives support from various entities including the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture, the Florida Council on Arts and Culture, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Broward County Cultural Division, Broward Mall, "King" George Jograj, Dr. Lydia Malcom of Authentic Behavioral Health LLC, and her husband, Mr. Waynewright Malcolm, along with funds from the Community Foundation of Broward such as the Judith Cornfeld Fund for the Arts, Helen and Frank Stoykov Charitable Endowment Fund, The Frederick A.
