Geri Halliwell joins husband Christian Horner at Bahrain Grand Prix
Red Bull boss cleared of misconduct allegations, seen hand-in-hand with Geri Halliwell at Bahrain Grand Prix, sparking unity rumors.
Christian Horner and Geri Halliwell were seen walking hand-in-hand into the Bahrain Grand Prix paddock, showcasing their unity after Horner was cleared of allegations of misconduct towards a female employee. The couple, Horner at 50 years old and Halliwell, a former Spice Girls singer, exuded confidence as they made their way to Red Bull's hospitality area, where they engaged with VIP guests while being photographed and filmed by the media.
The public display of togetherness came after F1 media and key figures in the paddock received an anonymous email on Thursday containing a Google drive link to supposed evidence related to the investigation. Recipients included the president of the sport's governing body, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, Formula One chief executive Stefano Domenicali, and rival team bosses.
An extensive investigation conducted by an independent lawyer for Red Bull GmbH, the team's parent company, exonerated Horner of the allegations. Mercedes and McLaren team bosses, Toto Wolff and Zak Brown, had called for greater transparency from Red Bull regarding the investigation before the email was sent out.
Despite the controversy, Ben Sulayem stated that the sport's governing body had no immediate plans to initiate its own investigation. Horner met with Ben Sulayem and Domenicali in the paddock on Friday, emphasizing the need for clarity and resolution.
As the longest-serving team boss in the sport, Horner has led Red Bull since their entry into Formula One in 2005. In the previous season, he guided the team to their sixth constructors' title with a remarkable 21 wins out of 22 races, marking one of the most dominant campaigns in Formula One history.
With Max Verstappen starting the race from pole position, he is the favorite to kick off his pursuit of a fourth consecutive world title with a victory that would extend his impressive streak at the top of the Formula One standings to 40 races. The anticipation is high as fans and competitors alike eagerly await the outcome of the Bahrain Grand Prix.
