Bengaluru Police detain fan planning to invade pitch during RCB vs CSK match
Bengaluru Police detain fan planning to breach security during RCB vs CSK match, ensuring safety and viral social media response.
The Bengaluru City Police recently detained a fan who had shared a plan on social media to breach security during the highly anticipated match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday, May 18. The fan had uploaded a video stating that he would run across the Chinnaswamy Stadium and interrupt the RCB vs CSK clash if his follower count reached 50K before April 9. The video quickly went viral, catching the attention of both social media users and the Bengaluru Police.
The Bengaluru Police, using the social media platform "X" (formerly Twitter), announced that they had detained the fan who was planning to invade the pitch during the game. The post was lighthearted and sarcastic, praising the police for taking preemptive action and preventing any disruption during the match. Despite threats of heavy rain, the RCB vs CSK game started on time, with RCB posting a challenging total of 218 runs thanks to their strong top order.
In order to qualify for the playoffs, RCB needs to restrict CSK to 200 runs or less to improve their net run rate. On the other hand, a win for CSK would secure their spot in the playoffs, or they would need to score a minimum of 201 runs even if they end up losing the match. The match resumed after a brief rain delay, with both teams giving their all to secure a spot in the playoffs.
