NBC 4 New York Telemundo 47 Stop & Shop 2024 Return Feeding Our Families Large-Scale Food Drive

NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47 anchors will thank volunteers and encourage giving at a large-scale food drive event.

NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47, in partnership with Stop & Shop, are gearing up for a massive food drive on June 1st to support eight Tri-State food banks. The Feeding Our Families / Alimentando a Nuestras Familias drive will be held at nearly 200 Stop & Shop locations from 8 AM to 6 PM. Community members are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products, or round up their grocery totals at the register to support local food banks.

This initiative has already generated over 520 tons of donations in previous campaigns, highlighting the immense impact of community support. The most requested items include non-perishable food, personal hygiene products, and baby diapers. Volunteers will be on hand to provide shoppers with a list of needed items and guide them through the donation process.

Hunger is a persistent issue that requires year-round attention, especially during times when food banks experience increased demand. Eric Lerner, President and General Manager of NBC 4 New York, emphasizes the importance of supporting food banks and helping those in need. Similarly, Cristina Schwarz, President and General Manager of Telemundo 47, stresses the significance of community involvement in addressing hunger and supporting neighbors in need.

Stop & Shop plays a vital role in the fight against hunger by contributing over $2 million to food bank partners and supporting school food pantries across the Tri-State area. Jennifer Barr, Stop & Shop's Director of External Communications and Community Relations, underscores the importance of collaboration in making a difference in the community.
