Astro Bot Announced PlayStation State of Play
Sony unveils new Astro Bot game for PS5 on September 6 with new abilities and unique planets to explore. Exclusive release!
Sony has just unveiled the highly anticipated new Astro Bot game, set to release exclusively on the PlayStation 5 (PS5) on September 6. Fans have been eagerly awaiting news of a new Astro game, with rumors circulating for years. Just recently, data miner billbil-kun hinted at an upcoming announcement for a game known as Astro Bot, and now it's finally here.
In this exciting new adventure, players will embark on a journey through 6 galaxies and over 80 levels in search of Astro's scattered crew. Team Asobi studio director Nicolas Doucet promises a thrilling experience as players navigate through diverse environments such as lush forests, sandy beaches, hot volcanoes, and even more surprising locations like a gigantic hourglass or the canopy of a singing tree. Strap in with your Dual Speeder and get ready for an epic ride.
Astro will have access to over 15 new abilities that offer unique play styles to help him on his mission. From the Bulldog Booster for air-dashing and smashing through obstacles to the Twin-Frog Gloves for long-range punching and swinging, and the Giant Sponge for causing massive destruction by sucking up water, players will have a variety of tools at their disposal.
This new game marks the third installment in the Astro Bot franchise from PlayStation, following the success of Astro Bot Rescue Mission for PS VR in 2018 and Astro's Playroom for PS5 in 2020. Unlike the original VR title, this new game will be a platformer like Astro's Playroom.
Accompanying the official announcement is a trailer that gives players a glimpse of the gameplay and locations they can expect to explore. The game will be exclusive to PlayStation 5, adding to the excitement for fans of the series.
