In the early hours of Sunday morning, Akron police responded to multiple reports of shots fired at the scene. Subsequently, local hospitals reported an influx of individuals with gunshot wounds arriving at their emergency departments.
Initial reports suggested 27 victims, but a later statement from Mayor Malik and Chief Harding revised the number to 25, with one individual tragically losing their life. Police have recovered a firearm and numerous casings from the crime scene, but details regarding any suspects remain elusive.
