Angelina Jolie Brad Pitt daughter Shiloh, 18, paid for her own...
Shiloh Jolie-Pitt reportedly hired her own lawyer to drop her father's last name, following in her siblings' footsteps.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter Shiloh has reportedly taken a bold step by hiring her own lawyer and paying for it herself to file a request to drop her father's last name. According to an insider speaking to "Entertainment Tonight," Angelina is unaware of Shiloh's decision and cannot comment on it. The 18-year-old dancer made the request on her birthday to change her name from "Shiloh Jolie-Pitt" to "Shiloh Jolie."
This move by Shiloh adds her to the list of siblings who have distanced themselves from Brad Pitt. Vivienne, another daughter of the former couple, was recently listed as "Vivienne Jolie" in a Playbill for "The Outsiders." It remains uncertain if the 15-year-old has legally changed her name. Similarly, Zahara, their 19-year-old daughter, introduced herself as "Zahara Marley Jolie" at her sorority induction at Spelman College, dropping her father's surname.
Reports have also surfaced about Brad and Angelina's son Maddox, 22, choosing not to use Pitt as his last name on non-legal documents and instead opting for Jolie. Despite this, Angelina reportedly did not support Maddox's decision to legally change his name. In addition to Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, and Vivienne, the former couple also share sons Pax, 20, and Knox, 15.
Angelina filed for divorce in 2016 after 12 years together and two years of marriage, requesting sole custody of their children. The relationship between Angelina and Brad reportedly deteriorated after an incident in 2016 when Brad allegedly got physical with Angelina and two of their children on a private jet. The decision by Shiloh to change her name signifies a significant step in asserting her individuality and independence within the family dynamic.
