Dolly Parton Jennifer Aniston 9 to 5 Remake

Dolly Parton teases possible appearance in "9 to 5" remake at CMA Fest, shares lunch with Jennifer Aniston's dog. Tune in June 25!

Dolly Parton, the iconic country music star, made a special appearance at this year's CMA Fest, a four-day celebration of country music's biggest names. During a Q&A session, she addressed the upcoming remake of the classic film "9 to 5," produced by Jennifer Aniston's company, Echo Films. The original 1980 movie starred Parton alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as working women who take on their oppressive boss.

Parton revealed that she had discussed the project with Aniston a few years ago during a lunch meeting at Aniston's home in California. Aniston expressed her desire to bring a fresh perspective to the film with a new cast, while also considering the possibility of involving the original stars in some capacity. Parton expressed her hope that her hit song, "9 to 5," would be included in the remake, even treating the audience to a snippet of the tune.

The song "9 to 5" was a massive success for Parton, earning her an Academy Award nomination and four Grammy nominations, with wins for Best Country Song and Best Country Vocal Performance, Female. During their lunch, Aniston's dog, coincidentally named Dolly Parton, made an appearance, leading to some lighthearted jokes from the country star.

As the CMA Fest 2024 continues until June 9, fans can look forward to a three-hour primetime concert special hosted by Jelly Roll and Ashley McBryde, airing on June 25 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC. For more information on the festival, visit cmafest.com and stay tuned for updates on the "9 to 5" remake.
