New Hunger Games Book Coming 2025, Movie 2026

Suzanne Collins returns to Panem with a new Hunger Games novel inspired by Scottish philosopher and the dangers of misinformation.

Suzanne Collins, the renowned author of the blockbuster dystopian series The Hunger Games, is set to release a new novel set in the post-apocalyptic land of Panem. The fifth volume of the series, titled Sunrise On The Reaping, is scheduled to be published on March 18, 2025. This new book delves into the reaping of the Fiftieth Hunger Games, taking place 24 years before the original novel and 40 years after Collins' most recent book, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

Following the announcement of the novel's release, Lionsgate revealed that Sunrise On The Reaping will hit theaters on Nov. 20, 2026. Francis Lawrence, the director behind several Hunger Games movies, will return to helm this latest installment. The Hunger Games franchise, which has already sold over 100 million copies and been translated into numerous languages, has captivated audiences worldwide.

Despite initially indicating that she had concluded the series with the publication of Mockingjay in 2010, Collins surprised fans by returning to the world of Panem with The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes in 2020.
