Champions Trophy Lahore India Pakistan Match March 2025 Report
India and Pakistan set to clash in Champions Trophy in Lahore, but India's participation uncertain due to strained relations.
In a highly anticipated event, India and Pakistan are set to clash in the upcoming Champions Trophy in Lahore, as outlined in the tournament's draft. The decision for India to travel to Pakistan remains uncertain due to the strained relations between the two nations. Last year, during the Asia Cup, the Indian team was not permitted to travel to Pakistan, resulting in their matches being held at a neutral venue in Sri Lanka.
As reported by Cricbuzz, the neighboring rivals are scheduled to compete against each other in March of next year in the final league match of the eight-team tournament. The tournament is expected to take place from February 19 to March 9, although the final schedule has yet to be confirmed.
Notably, Pakistan recently broke an 11-year hiatus by traveling to India for the ODI World Cup. The Pakistan Cricket Board has designated Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi as venues for the 20-day competition, with Lahore being the main center for the India matches. Lahore will host seven matches, Rawalpindi five, and Karachi three, according to the plan.
The tournament's opening match is set to be held in Karachi on February 19, with Karachi and Rawalpindi hosting the two semifinals. The final is slated for March 9 in Lahore, which will also be the venue for all India matches and the semifinal if they advance.
While a hybrid model is not currently under discussion by the PCB or ICC, there is a possibility of last-minute changes to the situation. The focus now shifts to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Indian government as the decision on India's participation looms.
