Kyrie Irving struggles as Dallas Mavericks lose to Boston Celtics in Game 2 of NBA Finals. Kendrick Perkins criticizes Irving.
In the thrilling Game 2 of the NBA Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Boston Celtics, Kyrie Irving of the Mavericks had a tough night as they fell to the Celtics with a score of 105-98. Irving struggled once again, putting up 16 points, two rebounds, and six assists while shooting 7/18 from the field and 0/3 from three-point range in 41 minutes of play.
NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins took to social media to comment on Irving's performance, garnering over 2,000 likes and 95,000 impressions in under an hour. Perkins noted that Irving has yet to make it to The Finals, despite being the Mavericks' second-best player and having a strong postseason run.
Irving's shooting woes continued as he is now 13/37 from the field and 0/8 from three-point range in the first two games of the Finals. This is in stark contrast to his teammate, Luka Doncic, who put up an impressive performance in Sunday's loss with 32 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, and four steals.
On the Celtics side, Jrue Holiday, a 2021 NBA Champion, led the way with 26 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block, shooting 11/14 from the field and 2/4 from three-point range.
Despite being down 2-0 in the series, the Mavericks will have the opportunity to bounce back as Games 3 and 4 will be played at home in Dallas. The stage is set for an exciting matchup as both teams look to secure a victory and turn the tides in their favor.
