F1 star receives controversial penalty in Spanish Grand Prix qualifying

The Formula 1 stewards have confirmed a penalty for driver Logan Sargeant after the conclusion of qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix. Despite this penalty, it will have no impact on the starting grid for the race.

Fans of Formula 1 couldn't help but mock the stewards after Sargeant received a grid penalty for impeding Lance Stroll during qualifying. The stewards found Sargeant guilty and imposed a three-place grid drop for his next race participation. However, social media quickly pointed out that this penalty was essentially meaningless since Sargeant was already starting in the last position on the grid.

Many fans sarcastically commented on the situation, with one saying, "That's going to hurt!" while another joked that Sargeant is "immune to grid penalties". Some questioned the purpose of a penalty when the driver is already last on the grid.

Sargeant expressed disappointment after qualifying, attributing his performance to a car upgrade that was not functioning as expected. Despite the challenges, he remains determined to improve and overcome the difficulties faced by his team.

Teammate Alex Albon also faced challenges during qualifying but remained optimistic about the progress the team has made overall. He acknowledged the competitiveness of the midfield and highlighted the improvements in the car's performance compared to previous years.

In qualifying, Lando Norris secured pole position by a narrow margin over Max Verstappen, with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell also performing well. The race promises to be exciting with multiple British drivers at the front of the grid.
