Conor McGregor UFC 303 Update: Plans Return After Exit, New Date Set

Conor McGregor hints at a return to the Octagon after canceling UFC 303 comeback, facing criticism from fellow fighters.

Conor McGregor, the former two-weight champion, is already looking ahead to his return to the Octagon after his comeback fight at UFC 303 was canceled. McGregor, who was sidelined for the last three years due to a leg injury, had to withdraw from his scheduled welterweight fight against Michael Chandler due to a fractured toe on his left foot.

Despite receiving criticism from fellow fighters like Ilia Topuria and Islam Makhachev, McGregor made an appearance in the Bellator MMA cage in Dublin after cornering his teammate Sinead Kavanagh. After Kavanagh's loss, McGregor spoke about his injury and his plans for the future.

"I'm still here rocking away," McGregor said. "I had a little lapse of concentration and had to reschedule the bout, so I'm a little upset about that. But it's keeping me dialed in, it's keeping me focused. I can't rock around like I'm out there showing up, like I'm out there doing my job. The job is not done, so that's not bad for someone like me."

Looking ahead to his return, McGregor emphasized the importance of learning from his mistakes and staying focused. "I'm onwards towards the new date, and take my lessons learned, it was a lapse in concentration," McGregor continued. "If I was any of these other little bums that can't move, that have no footwork they don't rely on their skills... then I would be ok. And I've done it before, I've made the walk on a multitude of times under those circumstances and given these byums an advantage over me that they don't even deserve."

McGregor's determination to overcome his injury and return to the UFC shows his resilience and commitment to his craft. Despite setbacks, McGregor remains focused on his goal of getting back into the Octagon and proving himself once again as one of the best fighters in the world.
