Daniel Ezra exits All American series regular season 7
Daniel Ezra will not return as a series regular for season 7 of All American, but will make guest appearances.
Daniel Ezra, the lead actor in the hit series All American, will not be returning as a series regular for the upcoming season 7. Instead, he is expected to make guest appearances in the show. In the latest episode of season 6, titled "Victory Lap," Ezra's character finally achieved his dream of being drafted into the NFL. The episode ended with a time jump showing Spencer playing at the Super Bowl and proposing to his girlfriend Olivia.
According to Deadline, Ezra's departure was a creative decision made by both the actor and showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll before the start of production on season 6. This decision was not due to budget cuts, as previously rumored. In a statement to Deadline, Ezra expressed his gratitude for being able to complete Spencer's journey in a way that does justice to the character. He thanked the show's writers and cast for their support and mentioned that he will miss playing Spencer.
All American first premiered in 2018 and follows the story of a football player who transfers from South Crenshaw High to Beverly Hills High. The show recently paid tribute to the late Kamar de los Reyes, who played Coach Montes and passed away from cancer last year. Coach Montes' storyline was wrapped up in an episode that aired in early June, revealing that he had taken a job with the NFL.
