Panthers Sudbury silver win

North Bay Panthers win silver at Junior Voyageurs Summer Classic after an intense weekend of games in Sudbury.

The U11 North Bay Panthers recently participated in the Junior Voyageurs Summer Classic in Sudbury, where they put on an impressive performance and returned home with a silver medal.

The Panthers faced tough competition throughout the tournament. In their first game against the U11 Voyageurs, they were defeated 16-7. Despite the loss, Owen Marson and Cole Roussy managed to score two runs each for the Panthers. Vincent Muratore started the game on the mound, allowing 6 hits, 5 runs, and 1 walk. Emmett Beattie came in as relief but struggled, allowing 11 runs on 9 hits.

In their second game against the U10 Voyageurs, the Panthers showcased their pitching talent with Sullivan O'Reilly, Ryder Sprague, and Deacon Prytula combining for six strikeouts. The team managed to put up a few runs but fell short against the U10 squad.

The Panthers faced the Orillia Royals in their third game and suffered a 16-7 loss. The team struggled on the mound, giving up 11 hits to the Royals. Despite the loss, Merrick McMillan and Owen Marson put up a solid offensive performance.

In a must-win game against the Brampton Royals, the Panthers delivered a thrilling 10-9 victory. Deacon Prytula pitched exceptionally well, striking out 7 batters and allowing only 2 runs. The Panthers staged a comeback in the fourth inning, ultimately winning the game in a walk-off.

The Panthers advanced to the "B" Finals against the Muskoka Hornets but fell short, losing 6-5 and settling for the silver medal. Despite the loss, the team showed resilience and determination throughout the tournament.
