(WFLA) -- In a shocking turn of events, adult film actor Justin Heath Smith, also known as "Austin Wolf," has been charged with distributing hundreds of videos of child pornography, as reported by the U.S. Department of Justice.

The disturbing details reveal that Smith utilized an anonymous Telegram account to share videos with an individual, unaware that the recipient was actually under FBI investigation. Following the seizure of the individual's phone, an undercover agent engaged in a conversation with Smith, ultimately leading to his identification by federal authorities.

Upon searching Smith's Manhattan apartment, law enforcement discovered an SD card containing a multitude of videos depicting child pornography, some of which depicted infants and included violent sexual acts.

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams expressed outrage at the heinous nature of the content, stating, "As alleged, Justin Heath Smith received and distributed hundreds of recordings containing child pornography, including a ghastly video showing a young child bound, beaten, and raped."

Smith now faces charges of distribution and receipt of child pornography, as well as possession of child pornography, with a potential maximum combined sentence of 30 years in prison if convicted on both counts.

FBI Assistant Director in Charge James Smith emphasized the severity of these crimes, highlighting the lasting impact on victims and the relentless pursuit of justice for those responsible. He stated, "Each image is a crime scene, leaving lasting scars on innocent victims. The FBI is relentless in our pursuit of these perpetrators. We will track them down, arrest them, and ensure they face justice for the harm they cause."
