'David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan to portray Clark Kent and Lois Lane in upcoming film 'Superman: Legacy''

David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan cast as Superman and Lois Lane.

Warner Bros' and DC Studios' highly anticipated film "Superman: Legacy" has found its Superman and Lois Lane. David Corenswet has officially been chosen to don the iconic red cape as Superman, while Rachel Brosnahan will take on the role of the fearless reporter, Lois Lane. The decisions were announced on Tuesday after an extensive audition process that included months of audition tapes and in-person screen tests.

The selection of Corenswet and Brosnahan came after they were among the few individuals who were invited to audition in full costume and makeup for DC co-chairs Peter Safran and James Gunn, who is also directing the film. According to sources close to the production, both actors had test deals that were set to expire after two business weeks, highlighting the urgency to finalize casting before the potential SAG-AFTRA strike, which is scheduled to begin on June 30.

While Warner Bros has not yet confirmed its attendance at the upcoming Comic-Con in San Diego, there is speculation that Corenswet and Brosnahan may be introduced during the studio's Hall H panel. However, if the strike occurs, the actors would not be allowed to participate in any such events.

With Corenswet and Brosnahan securing the key roles of Superman and Lois Lane, attention now turns to casting Superman's arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor, and other supporting roles. Director James Gunn is reportedly shifting his focus to complete the ensemble cast for the film.

"Superman: Legacy" is set to be a major part of the new cross-platform DC slate titled "Chapter One, Gods and Monsters," which was unveiled earlier this year by Gunn and Safran. The presentation included details about other upcoming films, such as "Batman: The Brave and the Bold," directed by Andy Muscietti, and "The Authority," based on the popular comic books.

For Corenswet, this will be his first leading role in a major studio production. He has previously appeared in projects like "Pearl," "The Politician," and "We Own This City." On the other hand, Brosnahan recently concluded her acclaimed role in Amazon's "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," which earned her numerous accolades, including an Emmy win.
