Surrogate of Chrissy Teigen opens up about the birth of their son, Wren
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend welcome fourth child via surrogate.
Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend have welcomed their fourth child, a baby boy named Wren Alexander Stephens. The couple surprised their fans by announcing the arrival of their son on Instagram, expressing their gratitude to their surrogate, Alexandra Ryan, for the "incredible gift" she has given them.
Alexandra, deeply touched by their message, responded online, thanking the family for choosing her and making the entire experience so wonderful. She expressed her love for them and her family, stating that it was an honor to bring baby Wren into the world with them by her side.
Teigen revealed that Wren was born just minutes before midnight on June 19th, six months after she gave birth to their daughter Esti Maxine. In a heartfelt post, Teigen explained the decision to use a surrogate, stating that she had always wanted four children but didn't think she would be able to carry any more babies on her own after the loss of their son Jack at 20 weeks pregnant in September 2020. In 2021, they reached out to a surrogate agency and initially considered having two tandem surrogates.
However, during their surrogacy journey, Teigen decided she was ready to try to carry another child on her own for the last time. She expressed her resilience, stating that she had already seen the worst and promised to be okay no matter what happened. After crossing into her second trimester with daughter Esti, Teigen and Legend received the incredible news that their surrogate Alexandra had successfully become pregnant.
The news was a welcome surprise for the parents, as their first embryo transfer to Alexandra did not survive. Teigen expressed her gratitude for Alexandra's determination and sacrifices, noting how she fought to prepare for the second transfer and gave up so much of her own body.
Throughout the pregnancy, Teigen and Alexandra grew incredibly close, celebrating the joyous news and spending the next few months bonding over hot pot dinners and watching Vanderpump Rules together. Teigen expressed her gratitude once again to Alexandra for the gift she has given to her and her family.
The couple also shared intimate photos of their meeting with baby Wren in the hospital and Alexandra during her final trimester. Their hearts and home are now officially full, and Teigen acknowledged that both Wren and Esti's angel kisses are from their late son Jack.
This heartfelt announcement and the journey of Teigen and Legend's surrogacy experience have touched the hearts of many, reminding us of the love and resilience that can be found in the face of loss and the joy that comes with the arrival of a new life.
