Inside Look at Utah's Post Malone-Designed Pink Raising Cane's
Salt Lake City gets a pink Raising Cane's restaurant and museum.
In the vibrant city of Salt Lake City, there is a unique trend of fast-food chicken restaurants that also serve as museums. This may come as a surprise, but it all started with the first franchise of Kentucky Fried Chicken, which was founded here. In 1952, Harlan Sanders decided to franchise his secret chicken recipe to Pete Harman, and the location now serves as both a restaurant and a museum.
In April, something exciting happened in Salt Lake City. Todd Graves and Post Malone unveiled a customized pink Raising Cane's that pays homage to Post Malone himself. The city was ready for this grand opening.
Curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to visit this pink paradise for the first time last week. As a skeptic, I had my doubts about whether it would live up to the hype. To my surprise, I was proven wrong.
The experience begins as soon as you enter the parking lot. The blush-colored building, concrete patio, and even the lines on the asphalt create a stunning contrast against the backdrop of a bright blue sky and snow-capped mountains. It's a visual feast for the eyes.
Stepping inside, the fun continues. Neon pink Ping-Pong balls fly through tubes in a wall installation, adding an element of playfulness to the atmosphere. The walls and even tabletops are adorned with Ping-Pong balls encased in plastic. Post Malone's guitars, costumes, and shoes are proudly displayed on the walls, giving fans a chance to get up close and personal with his memorabilia.
Everywhere you look, people are engrossed in the experience. They take pictures, scan QR codes hung on the walls, and enjoy their fries and chicken. Construction workers take a break in their neon vests, while a group of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints missionaries gather in the center of the room. Tourists wander around, capturing selfies and browsing through a giant pink vending machine filled with custom socks, T-shirts, Ping-Pong balls, and other goodies.
The overall ambiance is one of pure joy, and it's no wonder why. Post Malone, known for his non-conformity, has created a space where everyone feels welcome. It's a Raising Cane's restaurant, but with an extra touch of magic. A child sitting next to me described it as "Barbie's dream restaurant," and I couldn't agree more.
If you find yourself in Salt Lake City, make sure to visit Raising Cane's at 890 E. Fort Union Blvd., Midvale, Utah. They are open from 10 a.m. to midnight, ready to serve you a delightful experience that goes beyond just a meal.
