"Diablo 4 Season 1 Unveils Long-Awaited Release Date Accompanied by Alluring Dark Theme"

Activision Blizzard has announced that Diablo 4 Season 1 will be released on Thursday, July 20. The season will feature a Battle Pass with 90 tiers of cosmetic rewards, with 27 tiers available for free and the remaining 63 tiers available for purchase. Players will need to complete the campaign once on at least World Tier 1 to participate in the season. The season, titled "Season of the Malignant," will introduce new enemies and powers for players to interact with.

Activision Blizzard has announced that Diablo 4 Season 1 will be released on Thursday, July 20. The release date was confirmed during a live stream on the Diablo YouTube channel. Players only have to wait two weeks to dive into the debut season of Diablo 4, where the world of Sanctuary is both familiar and corrupted. The new season will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC simultaneously, although the exact time has yet to be confirmed.

According to Activision Blizzard, the Diablo 4 Battle Pass is not mandatory for players who want to enjoy seasonal content every three months. In a blog post over a year ago, the developers stated that "you can't pay for power in Diablo 4" when it comes to seasonal content. This means that battle pass tier unlocks are purely cosmetic.

The Diablo 4 Season 1 Battle Pass consists of 90 tiers, each offering players a specific cosmetic reward. It will take approximately 80 hours to fully complete. Similar to other live service games like Fall Guys or Call of Duty, the Diablo 4 Battle Pass will have several free tiers. In Season 1, there will be a total of 27 free Diablo 4 Battle Pass tiers available to everyone, while the remaining 63 will be exclusive to those who purchase it.

The cost breakdown for the Diablo 4 Battle Pass is as follows:

- Free: Available to everyone (27 reward tiers)
- Premium: £8.39 / $9.88 / AU$14.95 (63 tier rewards)
- Accelerated: £20.99 / $24.99 / AU$37.45 (63 tier rewards, with 20 skips)

The Accelerated version of the Diablo 4 Battle Pass offers the same 67 tiers as the Premium version, but players have the option to skip through 20 tiers whenever they want. Additionally, there is an exclusive cosmetic item included in the Accelerated Diablo 4 Battle Pass.

To participate in Diablo 4 Season 1 on the first day, players need to have completed the campaign at least once on World Tier 1. However, this character will not be playable during the first season. In order to engage in the seasonal questline, mechanics, season journey, and battle pass, players must create a new seasonal character. There is no need to complete the entire Diablo 4 campaign again; players simply need to start a new character class. The map will mostly reset, with strongholds, dungeons, and some side quests refreshing. Completing these activities in Season 1 will earn players Favour, the currency used to rank up the Diablo 4 battle pass.

Diablo 4 Season 1, known as the Season of the Malignant, will introduce changes to the map for both new and current players. The main feature of the season is the ability for enemies to transform into a stronger and more powerful malignant version of themselves. Defeating these enemies will reward players with malignant hearts.

Malignant enemies, hearts, and powers are the primary focus of Diablo 4 Season 1. There are a total of 32 malignant powers available in the debut season. Players can insert a malignant heart into different pieces of gear to enhance them. These hearts can only be inserted into infested sockets of a specific color.

The season also introduces Invoker events, where players can invoke the malignant and farm the specific type of malignant heart they need for their equipped gear. Completing an Invoker event and connecting it with an outgrowth will generate a monster that players must defeat to earn rewards.

It is important to note that the Battle Pass and Seasonal Journey can only be accessed by players who have completed the campaign and created a new character. Entering the Seasonal Realm grants access to the seasonal objectives necessary to earn the Favour required to unlock all 100 tiers of the battle pass.

In addition to the Seasonal Journey, new Legendary items, bosses, and Unique items will also be available in Diablo 4. These additions can be enjoyed by players in the Eternal Realm who have not yet completed the main campaign or do not wish to start a new character build.
