J.D. Pardo from 'Mayans M.C.' Shares Insight into the Impactful Final Episode
Mayans M.C. finale ends with shocking deaths and intense moments.
Wow, what a finale! As expected, the Mayans M.C. finale was filled with mayhem and unexpected twists. From the very beginning, we knew that there would be devastating deaths, and boy, did we get them. The final act was executed with such merciless precision that it felt like it was meant to be.
If we remember the flagship FX series, Sons of Anarchy, it ended with Jax Teller meeting a tragic end by driving into a Mack Truck. So, it was only logical to assume that J.D. Pardo's character, EZ, wouldn't get out alive either. But of course, his death had to be unique. And it was. Bishop received a tip-off that EZ was "the rat," and everything changed in an instant. The Mayans, who had just won the war against the Sons Samdino chapter and patched in Nestor, turned against EZ. One by one, they took turns stabbing him until he met his demise. As Bishop reclaimed his position at the head of the table, the ATF stormed in. It was an intense few minutes, and it's safe to assume that none of the members survived, except for Angel, who we later see at the beach with his M.C. tattoos covered up.
But who else made it out alive? Not many from the original ensemble, but Letty survived (good news) while Potter lived (bad news). The body count in this finale was staggering and quite shocking, especially after the sudden shift in mood during EZ's death scene. There were numerous loose ends to tie up, perhaps too many for a finale. Fortunately, J.D. Pardo graciously agreed to help me process the aftermath as a viewer.
Due to last-minute technical difficulties, our conversation took place over the phone instead of on Zoom. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as my usual ice-breaker of wearing a Sons of Anarchy tank during video calls with actors from the franchise would not have been appropriate this season, considering the war between clubs.
Heyyy Kimberly.
Hi J.D. Oh, it sounds like one of my dogs wants to say hello too.
Oh, please give your dog my greetings!
She's a huge fan of the biker drama. And thank you for taking the time to talk with me, especially with the SAG/AFTRA strike looming. I can only imagine how chaotic things must be.
You're welcome. It's my pleasure to be here.
Of course, we're here to discuss the finale.
Ooooh, what did you think?
I was left speechless for several minutes after it ended. I think I need a therapy session to process everything, if you don't mind.
Ahhh yes... too bad we can't do this in person. But let's dive into it together.
