Christopher Nolan's film Oppenheimer continues to perform well at Indian box office, surpassing Mission Impossible's opening day collection and standing tall against Barbie.
Christopher Nolan's film, Oppenheimer, has achieved great success at the Indian box office, becoming the biggest Hollywood opener of 2023. Starring Cillian Murphy in the titular role, the film witnessed significant growth on Saturday, earning Rs 17 crore on its second day in India. This brings the total collections of the film to Rs 31.50 crore in just two days. Oppenheimer has surpassed the opening day collection of Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One, which earned Rs 12.50 crore, by garnering Rs 14.50 crore. Out of this, the English version contributed Rs 12.75 crore, while the Hindi version collected Rs 1.75 crore.
Despite facing competition from Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling's film Barbie, Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer continues to stand tall at the Indian box office. The film has managed to captivate audiences and maintain its momentum.
On a global scale, Oppenheimer is projected to collect approximately $160 million by the end of its first weekend, with nearly $90 million coming from international markets and the remainder from North America.
Fans of Christopher Nolan have eagerly awaited the release of Oppenheimer, and the advance booking sales numbers reflect this anticipation. Over 300,000 tickets were sold in advance bookings for the film. Alongside Cillian Murphy, the star-studded cast includes Robert Downey Jr as Lewis Strauss, Florence Pugh as Jean Tatlock, Emily Blunt as Kitty Oppenheimer, and Matt Damon as Leslie Groves.
