Tequila CAZADORES® releases new tequila-based coffee liqueur, CAZADORES® Café, for National Tequila Day.
In 1922, Don José Maria, a hard-working visionary from Arandas, Mexico, began the journey of creating the perfect tequila recipe in the highlands of Jalisco. For 101 years, this recipe remained a closely guarded secret, passed down through generations by word of mouth. It wasn't until the early 1970s that Don José Maria's grandson decided to share this recipe with more than just his family members, opening a distillery and naming the tequila "Cazadores," meaning "The Hunters," after the majestic stags that roamed the agave fields. This symbolized the years Don José Maria spent searching for perfection.
Today, Tequila Cazadores is made with 100% Blue Agave grown, harvested, and distilled in the highlands of Jalisco, which is now recognized as the premier agave growing region in the world. The brand is part of the Bacardi Limited portfolio, with its headquarters in Hamilton, Bermuda.
To celebrate National Tequila Day on July 24th, Cazadores has announced the release of a new innovation to their tequila portfolio: Cazadores Café. This bold yet smooth tequila-based coffee liqueur is made with 100% agave and is now available across the U.S. as Tequila Cazadores Café Coffee Liqueur.
Cazadores Café delivers a rich coffee flavor with the base of tequila. Made with Tequila Cazadores Blanco, roasted coffee, and agave nectar, this premium coffee liqueur offers deep and rich flavors with a subtle sweetness of vanilla and chocolate. It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or used as a mixer for cocktails like an Espresso Martini. Pairing it with desserts creates a rich and delicious experience. The production process of Cazadores Blanco involves a two-stage fermentation and double-distillation process in small copper lined pot stills with no aging, following a traditional seven-step zero-waste process.
The journey of creating Cazadores Café begins with the harvesting of the piñas, followed by a unique 24-step diffusion process to extract 99% of the raw agave juice. During fermentation, Mozart's music is played to soothe the yeast and water particles, creating a memorable taste. The final step involves infusing the liquid with coffee and agave, ensuring all the tasting notes and aromas come through in each sip.

With the popularity of coffee-based cocktails and the espresso martini, we wanted to create a tequila-based liqueur that would appeal to a wide range of cocktail enthusiasts in an innovative way," says Jay Needham, Tequila Cazadores Brand Director.
In honor of the launch of Cazadores Café, Tequila Cazadores hosted a private 3-day pop-up event in New York City, called Cazadores Café Cantina. Located at 164 Mott Street, the Mexican-inspired cantina offered authentic Mexican light bites, daytime cafe beverages, and nighttime cocktails to showcase the versatility of Cazadores Café. Guests had the opportunity to be among the first to taste the new tequila-based coffee liqueur.
As tequila continues to be a popular spirit, Tequila Cazadores aimed to create a product that could stand on its own as well as enhance popular cocktails like the Espresso Martini. The tasting notes of Cazadores Café, including richly roasted Mexican coffee, vanilla, and chocolate, were highlighted in this cocktail. The recipe for the Espresso Martini using Cazadores Café is as follows:
2 oz. Fresh Brewed Coffee or 1 oz. Espresso Coffee beans
Method: Combine ingredients with ice, shake, and serve in a cocktail glass.
