Rudy Giuliani Admits False Statements against Georgia Elections

Rudy Giuliani admits to making false statements against Georgia election workers accused of tampering with ballots in favor of Biden.

In a recent court filing, Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York, admitted to making false statements against two Georgia election workers. These workers were accused by Giuliani of tampering with ballots and helping President Joe Biden win the 2020 presidential election. Giuliani's admission came as part of a defamation lawsuit brought by the two workers, Ruby Freeman and Wandrea "Shaye" Moss.

Giuliani, who is 79 years old, made his admission in a statement filed on July 25. The filing moves the lawsuit to the legal arguments stage, where it will be determined if Giuliani will be held responsible for the damages requested by Freeman and Moss. While Giuliani's team argues that his statement falls short of a full admission, Freeman and Moss's legal team sees it as a favorable outcome for their clients.

According to Giuliani's aide, Ted Goodman, the former mayor did not acknowledge that his statements were false but did not contest them in order to move the case forward. Goodman emphasizes that this is a legal issue, not a factual one, and that Giuliani's stipulation is designed to address the legal aspects of the case.

Freeman and Moss's legal team, on the other hand, sees Giuliani's admission as a significant step towards justice. They argue that their clients have always acted in accordance with the law and that the allegations of election fraud made against them by Giuliani and former President Donald Trump have been false from the beginning. Michael J. Gottlieb, a partner at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP representing Freeman and Moss, expressed satisfaction with this milestone in their fight for justice and looks forward to presenting the remaining aspects of the case at trial.

It is important to note that this admission by Giuliani does not necessarily mean that the lawsuit will proceed unchallenged. The legal arguments stage will determine the next steps in the case and whether Giuliani will be held accountable for the damages sought by Freeman and Moss.
