'Body of Missing Goldman Sachs Banker John Castic Found in Creek'

"Goldman Sachs banker found dead after disappearing from Brooklyn nightclub, second death at same venue raises concerns."

The body of John Castic, a missing banker from Goldman Sachs, has been discovered two days after he disappeared from a nightclub in Brooklyn. The discovery took place at Newtown Creek, approximately half a mile from the Brooklyn Mirage, where a significant police presence was observed. Large NYPD vessels and speedboats were seen in the water, and the body was retrieved at around 1pm on Tuesday. Castic, a 27-year-old banker from Chicago, had informed his friends that he was taking an Uber home to his apartment in the early hours of Sunday.

Interestingly, this incident follows the recent discovery of another man's body in the same creek after he went missing from the same Brooklyn venue. The cause of Castic's death has not yet been disclosed. Police arrived at the scene around 11:30am, and the body was retrieved just before 1pm. The NYPD provided a statement, explaining that they responded to a 911 call and found an unconscious male floating in the water. The aided male was later identified as John Castic, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

Castic graduated from DePaul University and had been working as a senior analyst at Goldman Sachs since August 2022. On the night he disappeared, he and his friends attended a concert by Canadian electronic duo Zeds Dead at the Brooklyn Mirage. The last photo of him, shared on social media, showed him arriving at the venue around 9pm on Saturday. According to his friends, he left the venue at 2:30am and intended to take an Uber ride back to his apartment in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

This tragic incident bears resemblance to another case involving a 27-year-old man who went missing from the Brooklyn Mirage. Karl Clemente was with a group of friends on June 11 when they were denied entry to the venue due to suspicions of alcohol consumption. He then went to a nearby gas station, a common spot for people to wait before calling for transportation, and vanished. Clemente's body was later found in a creek behind a lumber warehouse on June 16. While the police do not believe his death was suspicious, they are still investigating.
