In terms of the game itself, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has not yet decided whether or not starting quarterback Dak Prescott will play in the preseason. McCarthy has taken over playcalling duties for the first time in his tenure with Dallas.
The Cowboys have some young players to watch this season, including rookie kicker Brandon Aubrey, rookie wide receiver Jalen Brooks, and rookie running back Deuce Vaughn. Vaughn is particularly excited to showcase his skills in a game scenario and emphasizes the transition from college to professional football.
On the Jaguars' side, head coach Doug Pederson plans to have the starters play for at least a portion of the game to experience the energy of starting a football game.
The Cowboys and Jaguars have faced each other six times during the preseason, with the series tied at 3-3. Their most recent preseason matchup was in August 2021, where the Jaguars emerged victorious with a 34-14 win on the road.
The televised broadcast of the game will feature Kyle Youmans as the play-by-play commentator, with Bill Jones and Isaiah Stanback as analysts, and Hailey Sutton as the sideline reporter.
