AEW Star Cash Wheeler Arrested For Firearm Assault

AEW Tag Champ's match in jeopardy as wrestler Cash Wheeler is arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.

In just nine days, the highly anticipated AEW event, All In, might face a major setback. Cash Wheeler, also known as Daniel Wheeler, a professional wrestler and one-half of the AEW Tag Team Champions, found himself in an Orlando court after being arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.

According to court records from Orange County, Florida, the arrest warrant was issued on July 28, following an alleged offense the day prior. Wheeler's attorneys entered a plea of "not guilty" on August 3, and he chose not to attend the pre-trial conference. His first appearance in court was on Friday.

AEW, the wrestling promotion, has acknowledged the charge and stated that they are closely monitoring the situation while Wheeler fully cooperates with local authorities. The incident in question reportedly involved Wheeler displaying a gun, but there was no physical altercation, and he had no prior connection to the other party involved. Wheeler's most recent appearance was on AEW Collision on August 12, where he competed in a tag team match alongside his FTR partner Dax Harwood and CM Punk.

The timing of Wheeler's arrest is particularly unfortunate, as he is scheduled to participate in All In, which is set to be the company's largest event ever. The show will take place at London's Wembley Stadium and is expected to draw a crowd of over 80,000 fans. As of now, there have been no travel restrictions imposed on Wheeler as a result of his arrest.

Wheeler was slated to compete alongside Harwood in a highly anticipated match against Matt and Nick Jackson, popularly known as the Young Bucks, for the AEW Tag Team Championship. This match was one of the marquee events of All In.

Fans eagerly awaiting All In can catch the event on Sunday, August 27, through pay-per-view. Despite the uncertainty surrounding Wheeler's situation, wrestling enthusiasts are hopeful that the show will go on as planned.
