Real Madrid had an opportunity to take the lead in the 68th minute when Rodrygo was awarded a penalty after being tripped by Celta Vigo's goalkeeper, Ivan Villar. However, Villar redeemed himself by making a diving save to deny Rodrygo's spot kick. Carlo Ancelotti expressed his disappointment that Luka Modric did not take the penalty, as he had initially instructed midfielder Fede Valverde to pass it to Modric.

However, it was Jude Bellingham who ultimately sealed the victory for Real Madrid with a header from Joselu's touch off a corner. Bellingham's intelligent movement without the ball and his ability to arrive at the right moment have contributed to his impressive start in La Liga.

Real Madrid's next match will be their first home game of the season, which will take place against Getafe next Saturday.
