Argyle player ratings, Carabao Cup defeat, Crystal Palace

Player ratings from Plymouth Live's Argyle reporter for their 4-2 defeat against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.

Player ratings for Plymouth Argyle's match against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup second round at Home Park have been released. The ratings were given by Plymouth Live's Argyle reporter Chris Errington and are as follows:

- Callum Burton: 6/10. Burton conceded four goals, two of which were scored from close range and two were powerful shots. The goals came from Odsonne Edouard and Jean-Philippe Mateta, with assists from Jeffrey Schlupp and Eberechi Eze.

- Kaine Kesler-Hayden: 9/10 (STAR MAN). Kesler-Hayden had another outstanding game, performing well in his preferred right-back role. He showed composure and quality on the ball.

- Dan Scarr: 6/10. Scarr coped well against Edouard and Mateta for the majority of the match, but struggled when Ayew, Eze, and Schlupp were introduced as substitutes.

- Julio Pleguezuelo: 7/10. Pleguezuelo made his second start of the season and captained the side. He looked comfortable in the first half but found it harder in the second as Palace increased their intensity.

- Mickel Miller: 6/10. Miller played at left-back and came close to scoring just before half-time. He made a penetrating run forward but narrowly missed the target.

- Luke Cundle: 8/10. Cundle, on loan from Wolves, showed signs of catching up with his teammates in terms of fitness. He scored a stunning goal just 32 seconds into the second half.

- Lewis Warrington: 7/10. Warrington played in the holding midfield role and showed good awareness and touches. However, his lack of match practice may have affected his performance later in the game.

- Matt Butcher: 6/10. Butcher had a solid performance in central midfield but struggled with the increased pace and intensity from Palace due to his lack of game time.

- Tyreik Wright: 7/10. Wright played on the right of Argyle's attacking trio and had a good game against England international left-back Tyrick Mitchell. He was always looking to take on his opponent and provide crosses.

- Ben Waine: 7/10. Waine scored an early goal for Argyle and showed his poaching instincts in the six-yard area. He came close to scoring a second goal with a tremendous long-range shot.

- Callum Wright: 6/10. Wright played in a new role on the left and provided the assist for Waine's goal. However, he may be better suited to a central midfield position.

The substitutes were also rated:

- Finn Azaz: 6/10. Azaz was part of a triple substitution in the 70th minute, replacing Tyreik Wright.

- Bali Mumba: 6/10. Mumba replaced Mickel Miller in the 70th minute.

- Morgan Whittaker: 6/10. Whittaker replaced Luke Cundle in the 70th minute.

- Ryan Hardie: Not rated. Hardie was brought on as a substitute in the 79th minute.
