'Search Escaped Murderer Moves South: Danelo Cavalcante Caught on Camera at Longwood Gardens'

Danelo Cavalcante, a convicted killer who managed to escape from Chester County Prison last week, has been spotted on trail cameras at Longwood Gardens on Monday night. This discovery has led authorities to expand their search for Cavalcante beyond the immediate vicinity of the prison. The trail cameras captured images of Cavalcante, who was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his girlfriend, wearing different clothing and carrying bags. State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens stated that they are unsure where Cavalcante obtained these items.

In response to the sighting, a reverse 911 call was sent out to residents within a 3-mile radius of Longwood Gardens, urging them to remain vigilant and secure their homes. The focus of the investigation has now shifted to the area south of Route 1, and authorities have been in contact with Delaware authorities as well.

Despite changing his clothes, Cavalcante has not significantly altered his appearance. He is described as a 34-year-old man from Brazil, standing at 5 feet tall and weighing approximately 120 pounds. He has curly black hair and brown eyes. The search for Cavalcante is being led by the Pennsylvania State Police, with assistance from various agencies.

The ongoing search has had an impact on the local community, with two school districts canceling classes and Longwood Gardens closing temporarily. West Chester University has resumed its normal schedule but has implemented increased security measures.

Prior to his escape, Cavalcante had been seen in the vicinity of the prison on multiple occasions. In August, he was convicted of murdering his girlfriend, who was stabbed over 30 times. The prosecution revealed that Cavalcante had killed her because she threatened to go to the police with information about his involvement in a previous homicide in Brazil.

Authorities are determined to apprehend Cavalcante and bring him back into custody. They believe that his desperation and desire to avoid capture will eventually lead to his downfall. In the meantime, the search continues, and residents are urged to remain cautious and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
