Raiders Chandler Jones hospitalized against will – No wrongdoing committed
Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones claims he was taken to a hospital "against my will" and shares details on social media.
Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones has recently made claims that he was taken to a hospital "against my will," marking a significant departure from his usual social media activity. The Raiders had placed Jones on the non-football illness list last week, citing a personal matter as the reason for his absence. However, Jones has since taken to social media to share accusations about the Raiders organization, owner Mark Davis, general manager Dave Ziegler, and coach Josh McDaniels over the Labor Day Weekend.
In a recent post, Jones shared photos of his journal entries and an apparent statement of "patient rights" via X. Accompanying the post, he wrote, "First day out but I'm still aligned," suggesting that he had been released from the facility on that day. In his journal entries, Jones detailed his experience of being transported to Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas by "5 to 7" Las Vegas Fire Department officials, who informed him that he had been placed on a "court hold" by the police department. Eventually, he was transferred to a behavioral health facility last week.
Expressing his innocence, Jones wrote, "I haven't done anything wrong. The police said people were concerned about me because of my posts online." He further revealed that he had been "injected" with an undisclosed substance in the ambulance without his consent.
Additionally, Jones highlighted sections of the "patient rights" document that he believed were violated during his stay at Seven Hills, where he claimed they tried to force him to take medication and injections.
Jones's social media activity began to raise eyebrows on September 5th when he posted and deleted an Instagram story stating that he no longer wished to play for the Raiders. He alleged that team officials had denied him access to the Raiders' gym and shared a screenshot of a text conversation with Las Vegas general manager David Ziegler, where he expressed frustration over the lack of response from Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels.
Later, Jones posted a video on September 8th, where he laughed about the Raiders' attempts to intimidate him and claimed to have more evidence in the form of pictures and text messages. Prior to this, he had shared photos and screenshots alleging that a member of the Las Vegas Crisis Response Team had been sent to his door.
Jones continued to make accusations against Raiders owner Mark Davis on social media, although he later claimed that his account had been hacked. As a result, he was placed on the NFL List on September 20th.
Despite being a four-time Pro Bowler, Jones has been inactive for the first two games of the season and also missed the Raiders' Week 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Last season, he started 15 games for the Raiders under a three-year, $51 million contract, earning All-Pro honors twice.
