The Texas Rangers got off to a strong start in the AL Championship Series with a 2-0 win over the Houston Astros. Jordan Montgomery outpitched Justin Verlander, while rookie Leody Taveras provided the game-winning homer. The Rangers have remained undefeated in the postseason, winning all six of their games. Evan Carter, a 21-year-old rookie, also made significant contributions with a double and a run scored, as well as impressive defensive plays. The Rangers, who had previously struggled in the playoffs, have turned their fortunes around with their recent winning streak. The Astros, on the other hand, had difficulty generating offense against Montgomery and will need to improve in Game 2. Despite the loss, the Astros remain confident and are determined to bounce back.
