Christina Aguilera's Fiance Matthew Rutler Shows Rare Support
Christina Aguilera's fiancé, Matthew Rutler, showed support for her after a Jimmy Kimmel Live! taping in Los Angeles. The couple enjoys pranking each other and loves the spooky season. They have been happily engaged since 2014 and have no plans for a wedding. Aguilera will launch her Sin City residency in Las Vegas in December.
Matthew Rutler, the fiancé of Christina Aguilera, made a rare appearance by her side on Monday, October 16, to show his support. The 38-year-old Rutler was photographed escorting the 42-year-old singer after a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live! in Los Angeles. He was seen wearing a trucker hat with the late-night show's logo, along with an olive green T-shirt and black jeans tucked into black combat boots. Aguilera, on the other hand, wore a tight black ensemble with matching sunglasses.
During her appearance on the ABC show, Aguilera shared that she and Rutler enjoy pranking each other, despite her own fear of being scared. She confessed to host Jimmy Kimmel that she easily cries when she gets scared, especially after becoming a mother. Aguilera revealed that she and Rutler make it a point to prank each other every year, even though she sometimes struggles with being frightened.
One of Aguilera's pranks involved placing a life-size mannequin of Michael Myers from the Halloween films in her closet. However, she admitted that she didn't scare Rutler enough that year and promised to come up with an even better prank next time.
The couple shares a love for the spooky season and even put on haunted houses for trick-or-treaters. They also enjoy listening to festive music throughout the month of October, much to the dismay of their 9-year-old daughter, Summer. Aguilera shared a video during her appearance on Kimmel, showing her and Rutler rocking out to Andrew Gold's viral hit "Spooky Scary Skeletons," while their daughter pleaded for them to stop.
Aguilera and Rutler first met on the set of the musical movie Burlesque. They began dating in 2010, during Aguilera's divorce from Jordan Bratman, with whom she shares a son named Max. Aguilera and Rutler welcomed their daughter Summer three years later. They have been happily engaged since Valentine's Day 2014 and have no immediate plans for a wedding. According to a source, they are content with the way things are and don't feel the need for a document to prove their love.
The insider also revealed that Aguilera and Rutler are homebodies who enjoy spending time together at home, like any normal couple, but also make an effort to have date nights and go out.
When Aguilera is not at home with Rutler, she is rocking the stage. She is set to launch her Sin City residency at the Voltaire Belle de Nuit at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas on December 30, with shows scheduled until March 2.
