Steelers Underdogs in Week Eight Against Jaguars

The Pittsburgh Steelers are underdogs for their upcoming game against the Jacksonville Jaguars despite their recent victory.

The Pittsburgh Steelers pulled off a surprising upset against the Los Angeles Rams, improving their season record to 4-2. However, they are still considered underdogs for their upcoming game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. According to the sportsbook VSIN, the Jaguars are opening as 1.5 point favorites for the Week Eight matchup, with an over/under set at 41.5.

Both teams are coming off victories in Week Seven. The Steelers managed to defeat the Rams with a come-from-behind performance, scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter after trailing for the first three quarters. It was a typical Steelers' game, with both the offense and defense making mistakes. The team only had three points at halftime and relied on a T.J. Watt interception to set up their first touchdown, which was scored by quarterback Kenny Pickett.

However, the Steelers found their rhythm in the final 15 minutes and dominated the game. Pickett and the offense controlled the ball for the remaining 5:28 of the game, preventing the Rams from having a chance to tie the score. Although the defense allowed some big plays, they made crucial stops in the end to secure the victory. Head coach Mike Tomlin praised the team's determination and ability to find a way to win.

On the other hand, the Jaguars started the NFL week with a win against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night, extending their record to 5-2 and taking a strong lead in the AFC South. Despite holding a comfortable lead for most of the game, the Saints made a comeback in the fourth quarter, tying the game with 6:38 remaining. However, a 44-yard touchdown by wide receiver Christian Kirk put the Jaguars back in the lead.

In the final opportunity to tie the game, the Saints drove down the field but failed to convert on four attempts to score a touchdown, including a costly drop in the end zone by tight end Foster Moreau. The Jaguars now have the advantage of a "mini-bye" after their Thursday game, although they will have to travel to Pittsburgh for the upcoming matchup.

The game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Jacksonville Jaguars is scheduled to kick off at 1 PM/EST on Sunday afternoon.
