Inside Out 2 Trailer, Poster: New Emotion, Big Voice Cast Changes
Disney and Pixar's Inside Out sequel introduces a new Emotion: Anxiety! The first trailer and poster have been released.
Riley's head is about to get a lot more crowded next summer when Disney and Pixar's Inside Out sequel hits theaters. The new film will introduce a new Emotion: Anxiety. According to director Kelsey Mann, Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, is not the type to take a back seat. This new character is expected to shake things up in a big way, adding a new layer of complexity to the story.
The first trailer and poster have been released, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from Inside Out 2. The film will see Riley turning 13, and with that comes some big changes within Headquarters. The five Emotions we first met in 2015 will have to adjust to the arrival of new Emotions, including Anxiety.
The plot synopsis for Inside Out 2 reveals that the film will return to the mind of Riley as she navigates the challenges of being a teenager. The sudden demolition of Headquarters makes room for new Emotions to join the crew, and the original Emotions are not sure how to feel about it. Maya Hawke will lend her voice to Anxiety, joining the returning cast of Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, and Liza Lapira as Disgust.
However, some changes have been made to the cast since the original film. Bill Hader will not return as Fear, and Mindy Kaling is no longer playing Disgust. Reports suggest that they left the franchise after being offered significantly less than the lead cast members.
Inside Out was a massive hit in 2015, grossing $858.8 million worldwide and winning "Best Animated Feature" at the 88th Academy Awards. The film was praised for its unique concept and emotional storytelling, and the sequel is expected to build on that success. With the addition of new Emotions, Inside Out 2 promises to be a feel-good film that will resonate with audiences of all ages.
