CASSIE lawsuit accuses DIDDY of rape, sex trafficking, and repeated physical abuse
Diddy accused of rape, sex trafficking, and abuse by ex-girlfriend Cassie. Lawsuit filed. Combs denies allegations, calls lawsuit "blatant blackmail."
Sean "Diddy" Combs has been accused by his ex-girlfriend Cassie of rape, sex trafficking, and repeated physical abuse over the course of a decade. The allegations were made in a lawsuit filed in Federal District Court in Manhattan on Thursday, November 16.
Diddy and R&B singer Cassie dated for 10 years before ending their relationship in 2018, with Cassie marrying her personal trainer Alex Fine. In the lawsuit, Cassie, whose real name is Casandra Ventura, alleges that Combs introduced her "to a lifestyle of excessive alcohol and substance abuse" and forced her to have sex with numerous male prostitutes while he filmed the encounters.
The lawsuit also lists Bad Boy Records, Bad Boy Entertainment, Epic Records, and Combs Enterprises as defendants. Ventura stated, "After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships."
A lawyer for Combs, Ben Brafman, denied the allegations, stating that Combs "vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations" and that Ventura had demanded $30 million under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship. However, Ventura's lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, stated that Combs had offered her eight figures to silence her and prevent the filing of the lawsuit, which she rejected.
The lawsuit has brought to light a contentious and complex legal battle, with both parties vehemently denying the allegations and making accusations against each other. This case highlights the importance of speaking up about trauma and abuse, as well as the challenges faced by survivors seeking justice. The lawsuit has also raised awareness about the Adult Survivors Act, which provides an opportunity for survivors to seek redress for past trauma. This case serves as a reminder of the importance of supporting survivors and holding perpetrators accountable.
