Popular WKYC meteorologist Hollie Strano was recently arrested and charged with driving under the influence in Summit County, Ohio, on Thanksgiving night. She is scheduled to appear for an arraignment at the Cuyahoga Falls Mayor's Court on Thursday, according to reports. Strano has been absent from the air throughout the week, as reported by WKYC.

The Cuyahoga Falls police were alerted of a possible intoxicated driver on the road and discovered Strano's SUV. Law enforcement revealed that Strano was unable to maintain her lane and was driving over 70 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone. Her car went off the road and crashed as she was Akron-bound. When police made contact with Strano, they reported that she smelled of alcohol and had a blood alcohol level of 0.244%, which is three times more than the legal limit of 0.08%.

Her car crash caused "rushing water and mud to fill most of the parking lot" overnight at the Townpath Tennis Center, as reported by The Scene. Workers diligently cleaned the slush in time for the center's 43rd annual Thanksgiving Tournament.

Strano was arrested and charged with an OVI (Operating a Vehicle while Impaired) after being taken to the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. She was asked to take a sobriety and breath test, which led to her arrest.

The 50-year-old meteorologist has not publicly addressed the incident yet, and Micki Byrnes, the general manager of WKYNC, released a statement saying, "This is a personnel matter, and we are not going to comment at this time."

Hollie Strano is a well-known morning meteorologist and anchor of WKYC's 3GO channel. She also appears on the Today show and hosts Live of Lakeside on the same channel. She is a recipient of several accolades, including the Open Door Award for Achievement in Advocacy by the Nord Center and the Helping Hands Award by the ADAMHS Board.

As the news of her arrest made headlines, Strano has been absent from her regular appearances on WKYC, and her arraignment is scheduled for Thursday.
