Former NFL linebacker Ryan Shazier and his wife Michelle have separated after she accused him of cheating in an Instagram post.

Former NFL linebacker Ryan Shazier recently announced that he and his wife Michelle have separated, following accusations of infidelity. The 31-year-old Shazier made the announcement to TMZ, stating that he and Michelle are currently living apart and asking for privacy and prayers as they navigate this difficult time. Michelle, also 31, had accused Shazier of being a "liar and a cheater" in a now-deleted Instagram post, which included alleged text messages between Shazier and another woman named Marie. The post also claimed that Shazier had sent books to this other woman that included guides on how to perform sexual acts. The couple shares a son, Lyon, and Shazier has an older son, RJ, from a previous relationship. The exact timing of their separation is unclear, but they celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in May. Despite their split, the couple was seen together at a Steelers-Browns game in September and at the opening of a sports facility the same month. Shazier, who sustained a career-ending spinal cord injury in 2017, runs a foundation to help others with similar injuries. He was selected by the Steelers in the 2014 NFL Draft after playing college football at Ohio State.
